Visa Services at the U.S Consulates in India For Indian Citizens
Individuals applying for non-immigrant or immigrant U.S. visas need to be interviewed at the designated US consulate in India. Prior to the appointment, it may be helpful to obtain information regarding directions to the Consulate, hotels in the area, facilities to obtain demand drafts, photographs, photocopies and online access.
Those who live in India must appear for their visa interview at the Visa Section that has jurisdiction over the Consular District where they have been a resident for the last 6 months. Those who have permanently moved location in the last 6 months, and are not on a temporary transfer, should apply at the Visa Section covering their present residence.
Indian citizens residing in the US can request a visa interview at any of the five US Visa Sections in India when applying for a new nonimmigrant visa. The following links provide detailed information about each of the five consulates in India.
