Steve Piraka is a former USCIS officer specializing in naturalization. He brings the government's perspective to our citizenship clients (extending to other areas of immigration law as well), helping them to prepare their strongest possible case.
A son of immigrants, Mr. Piraka also has a good understanding of the perspective and importance of each of our client’s cases, especially in relation to the fact that they have often made the difficult choice to leave their home country and come all the way to the U.S. to study, work, or live. He utilized this perspective while working as an officer and continues to use this as an Immigration Attorney. In fact, the desire to help applicants he saw on a regular basis while working at USCIS was a motivating factor in departing to work on our clients’ behalf.
Mr. Piraka also has a strong background in the technical and life sciences, having completed undergraduate and graduate studies in these areas. This background benefits our clients in the areas of biotech, engineering, and health care.
Finally Mr. Piraka has a strong background in I-9 employment compliance, performing internal I-9 audits for our corporate clients, and preparing them for the potentiality of receiving a government audit.
Mr. Piraka received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and his Juris Doctor degree from Chicago Kent College of Law, with a certificate in Intellectual Property.
