Musicians Crossing BordersPublished: Friday, June 14, 2013 6:00 am
Since the USCIS decided that O-1 musicians must work through an “agent for immigration purposes only,” the logistics of these cases have become complex. Our client, a Canadian national, was in her home country and needed her approval notice to enter the U.S. to take up employment as a symphony musician. Fortunately, if the documentation submitted to USCIS for an O-1 visa is organized and complete, the turn-around time for approval is likely to be very short. Our client’s petition was approved in less than two weeks, and she was able to cross into the U.S. in time for the season opener.
