P-3 Approval for a Traditional Japanese Drum Performer without a Fixed Event Itinerary

Published: Friday, June 14, 2013 6:00 am

P-3 is a nonimmigrant status available to individuals who perform culturally unique services in the U.S. To acquire P-3 status, the petitioner is generally required to submit an itinerary of events where the beneficiary will perform, with a date and place for each event. We represented a not-for-profit organization which wanted to bring a traditional Japanese drummer to the U.S. on a P-3 visa. While the organization was unable to submit an itinerary with specific performance dates and locations, we explained to USCIS why the such an itinerary could not be available in this case. USCIS accepted the explanation, and approved the case.
