Important Considerations for the M-1 Visa

A. Course load may be reduced for medical reasons only, and even then only for a maximum of 5 months.


B. Those on a B-1/B-2 visa are not allowed to study before their status has been changed to M-1.


C. Always remember to report to the school within 30 days of the registration deadline.


D. M-1 students may only transfer schools within the first 6 months of studies, and only for reasons beyond the student's control.


E. Once an educational objective has been chosen, it cannot be changed.

F. Maintain a valid passport at all times.


G. Always maintain a valid I-20.
