Below please find an update on the suspension of some immigration services announced by USCIS yesterday:
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: USCIS CANCELING INTERVIEWS, SUSPENDING IN-PERSON SERVICES
USCIS has announced a suspension of *in-person* services at field offices, asylum offices and Application Support Centers (ASCs) effective at least March 18 through March 31. This affects biometric appointments, green card and naturalization interviews, and oath ceremonies. USCIS will automatically reschedule the affected biometrics and interview appointments, and send out new notices in the mail. It will also reschedule oath ceremonies. However, those with InfoPass appointments must reschedule through the USCIS Contact Center (https://www.uscis.gov/contactcenter) once field offices have re-opened.
USCIS will continue to accept applications and petitions submitted by mail and online.
According to the USCIS announcement, one can access live help with “limited emergency services” by calling the Contact Center between 8am and 8pm Mon-Fri (Eastern): 800-375-5283 (TTY 800-767-1833) or, from outside the U.S., 212-620-3418. The Contact Center Page also offers digital access to assistance.
Should the suspension of services go beyond March 31st, USCIS will provide further updates which we will share with you. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact Immigration Law Associates with any questions. We are here to assist you through this difficult time and ensure that your immigration status is not affected negatively.
